Deadpool is one of the few franchises that has as much creative freedom as it does without fans turning on it. Hear from authors Melissa Koons and Thomas A. Fowler in their test recording for the new Geeky Gab podcast.
As a part of Geeky Gab's new podcast, coming June 2018, we recorded a test episode entitled "Deadpool is a Bag of Squirrels." During this podcast episode, we go over our hopes for the now released Deadpool 2. But more specifically we discuss the marketing efforts, which can be as entertaining as the movies themselves. You can preview the podcast recording we made on YouTube before the podcast launches on iTunes, Spotify, and other platforms in June.
We discuss billboards, blunt ways to talk about cancer screenings, and Celine Dion's new "Ashes" song and why playing it straight was the only way the video could go.
We also introduce a few specific segments we'll have on each of our podcasts. The first is our Geekstarter, a conversational question to ask your nerdy friends. This week asks about times fourth wall breaks were magnificent and other times talking to the audience fell as flat as the merc with a mouth's appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The second is our Franchisnal Feast, a weekly recipe focused on the episode of the week! Since it was Deadpool, it kinda had to be Chimichangas.
